Today is one of the less stressful days of my recent life. Two law courses, labor laws and public international law, movie treat from a friend and a sleepover. Feels like just like before, just like high school or pre-activist days.

Anyways, this will just be rantings or random story telling. Expect a stream of consciousness type of story telling.

My labor laws class is awesome. I just have to read the assigned sections of the labor code, research on exploratory notes regarding it, read some cases and participate in the class discussion. We started discussing labor relations in class today and it's so interesting. Unions, collective bargaining, NLRC, etc. Ang sarap lang aralin! But more than studying the code, I want my coursemates to understand how easy it is to manipulate the code and how unfair existing labor laws/policies to our Filipino workers. So, ayun, aktibista padin ako.

In my public international law class, we did a reporting on our visit to the Australian embassy. Well, the visit was nice but I was not really able to hear substantial statements/information from our interviewee. The visit was so safe we couldn't make our report interesting for our coursemates. Other groups presented a report on their visits as well. What ate our time during class is the question/dyanmics of statehood of San Marino, Malta, Vatican and Italy. It was an interesting topic but we couldn't properly substantiate our arguments because of lack of information. But I would be doing a research on that. And unfortunately, our report on the updates on the MILF-GPH peace talks was moved again for the 4th time.

After class, I decided to go home because of pending article request from my clients. After awhile, Nikki invited me and Peter to watch Zombadings in TriNoMa. She decided to treat us but Peter couldn't make it because he needs to go to a wake. The movie? I think the film was good in terms of entertaining the viewers and sending important messages regarding homophobia and homosexuality in general. I hope I could make a separate entry regarding the film. I like the film, the cast and the story. There were just some unnecessary and questionable scenes but it was a good gay fantasy horror film. I think what's important is that it was able to communicate its message to the audience, hopefully, because it presented deep and serious arguments regarding homosexuality and society. Watch it, worth it. Lalo na ang hagdanan scene  ni Jigs at Remington!

Because it's already late and we couldn't find a bus for her, Nikki decided to just sleep with us (Peter) for tonight. Kulit.

Sounds like a typical Saturday for anyone but I really miss Saturdays like this. Saturdays where I can just watch a movie, bond with my friends and stay all night. I hope I get more Saturdays like this. Pero nakakaguilty pa din.

I hope I can catch at least one film from Cine Europa at Shang tommorrow. I will also be giving an educational discussion to some members of USC and CASSC tommorrow. I also plan to use my Taco Bell gift certificates that I was able to get by joining a raffle in their website. Mexican food, yes! I shall make the last day of the week my day. Forgive me for being selfish but tommorrow will be my day! :)

*Wrote this while Peter and Nikki is sleeping. Nagugutom kasi ako kaya nagsulat nalang. :)
**Rare lang na nagugustuhan ko ang mga loveteams sa movies. Go Remington and Jigs! :p

Golden 2010!

No Gravatar

This year is so awesome words aren't even enough for me to describe it. The good friends, the awesome professors, the toxic but fulfilling job in the student council, the sturdy FBCP family, the ever-growing national democratic social movement and the latest addition before the year ends-- ikaw. As if this year is not yet perfect, the great force in this universe conspired for me to meet, know and love you. To all my great friends, masipag na mga councilmates, selfless comrades, and to you sir, I thank you all for being an awesome companion for this year.

2010 is my golden age, personally. Aside from the fact that this has been the most productive year, I feel so awesome this year. I just feel and look good. Legendary, epic, awesome, what have you-- that is my 2010.

As we enter a new year, I do not promise any changes but rather a continuing commitment to my personal struggle and to the national democratic struggle. I will not leave the memories this year. I will not leave the mistakes and pains to Mr. 2010. I proudly bring them with me to welcome 2011. I have learned from my experiences this year and I will continue to learn this coming year. Sometimes we win but sometimes we lose - and learn.

And as I grow older, still the youngest in my batch, I welcome all the challenges waiting for me. To all my dear companions, join me as I face these challenges. And to all my detractors (naks, may detractors), tantanan niyo na ako! Grow up!

I fully welcome 2011 and my oh-so-awesome 18th Birthday. I'm not gonna wait for it, 'cause I'm gonna make this year legendary. My 18 great years of existence here will continue to be more awesome!

This will be our year. :)

Cheers to 2010!
Cheers to 2011!
Cheers to my 18 years in this universe! :)

2010 Year-End Wish List

No Gravatar

Since technically, I don't celebrate Christmas, I'd like to call it a year-end wish list rather than a christmas wish list. So, any gifts that I will receive this time of the year will be considered as offerings to the mighty Cleve celebrating the end of a productive year.

This is an official act of communication and plea for my friends and to other people I know to actually give me things as gifts things that I like. So, hey, pick one.

---

1. Personalized Name Stamp

I would like to receive a name stamp, of course, with my name in it because I want to name all my readings and other priceless paper possessions. Look for it! Not pricey, I think. It should be small like this and I don't want the rubberized manual-type of name stamp. I already have a rubber stamp.

2. Sidewalk Surfers from Sanuk

I want to have one of these cool footwears. This is a bit pricey, I know. But this is my wish list. I know someone financially able can give me one of these Sanuk wonders! But hey, could be any other cool footwear.

3. Plain V-Neck Shirt/s

It should not be any other shirt. First, it should be a shirt. Second, a v-neck shirt. And lastly, a plain v-neck shirt. Any color would do. This is not expensive, guys! C'mon, I know you can buy a plain v-neck shirt for me! You just have to visit the nearest department store to you or any other clothes store and you can already find one. I actually like the plain V-neck shirts from Oxygen. But, I don't mind, any plain V-neck shirt would make me happy for a day ( or for weeks).

4. Slim Automatic Umbrella

I saw this at an SM department store. This is very practical and very helpful. If you know me, I always use my umbrella, mainit man o maulan. So, if you want to give me something that I will always use, this can be it. I like this particular umbrella in the picture. It's very thin or slim and it's automatic. Sleek! Any dark color! We can walk and use this umbrella. Just if you want.

5. Green Tumbler from Starbucks

This! I want to have a tumbler because I would like to drink more water for next year. Part of being healthy shizz. I want it to be green because it's an awesome color. And I like this green tumbler from starbucks. But I don't know if it's still available. I think it's pricey because of the fact na starbucks siya. So, any green tumbler! Plain, simple, sophispicated.

6. Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton

For the record, if no one is willing to give me this book as a gift, ako nalang ang bibili. Michael Crichton is my favorite author and this books is actually one of the remaining three works of him that I was not able to read yet. But if you love to read, you know how much this will mean to me as a gift. Buy me this book!

7. Leather Phone Case

Under the assumption that I will have a new mobile phone before the holiday season, I want to have a leather phone case similar to the one displayed in the picture. I'm not a good owner of anything especially cellphone. So I want to have this to protect my cellphone from myself. Are there other colors for this? But black is fine. This one is relatively cheap compared to my other wishes. But hey, quality control guys.

8. Dinner and Movie Date

I want an awesome, cool, amazing and epic end-of-the-year date with someone special to me. It can be a friend or someone more than that. But the only thing that would make the date awesome, cool, amazing and epic is the person that I want to date. I know, this might be too early. We need to step back, don't rush and all those shizz. But this is like the end of the year. Any chance you might want to spend a night with me? Can someone ask the person to actually spend the night with me? Seriously, I know a friend can do it for me.

9. Doodle Notebook ala Moleskine Ruled Notebook

I can use Moleskine first class imitations especially if it's green. But what I just want is a decent doodle notebook. If you could look for a PAGEONE notebook, that would be awesome. But I'm having a hard time looking for it. So, any cool but not that artistic notebook. It will work. I just need a notebook for my doodles.

---

Because it's in this time of the year that our materialist tendencies are re-energized and that consumerism is at its peak! So, why not channel your materialist tendencies and feeling of consumerism into shopping gifts for me? Why not? But if you could re-channel those tendencies into a year full of support to the mass organizations and student council campaigns, I can and will forgive you.

Happy end of the year! May the capitalist earn double this time of the year!
