A Fail Isang Tanong
I believe GMA 7's Isang Tanong Presidential Forum is a failure. The much publicized presidential forum failed to exceed or at least meet my expectations for a decent and well-organized forum. Much of the questions are very general. They are general because they will not be able to provide helpful insights to the candidates and to their platforms. All you can hear from those questions are safe answers that needs no thinking or political ideology. I couldn't believe that this is all that they can provide us and the electorate. I mean, GMA7 is known for its very excellent journalists and broadcasters and its news and public affairs department but there were no traces of it in the program.
Mike Enriquez as a host failed to bridge the gap between the candidates to be interviewed. The audio-visual presentation shown before each candidates were called was at least insightful to their educational and professional background. But that's very basic. I mean, these are award-winning journalists, they should have been able to provide new and interesting facts about the candidates. The concept is quite good but there's a little effort on the part of GMA7 to prepare good questions and true sectoral representation in the panel of those who ask questions. The youth sector is represented by these leaders from top elite schools. Representation, really? The common people is represented by randomly selected videos that they received. I can't believe GMA7 did marginalized those who can't access the internet. Representation, really?

For me, LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro won the forum. He was very intelligent and very good in answering the questions. Though he was not able to show his concrete plans, relative to all the candidates he was the only candidate who articulated his belief system very well. But I still don't like him. He is an Arroyo ally and he is a US puppet. Liberal Party's Noynoy Aquino was a loser in the forum. He really can't speak his mind, or he really can't think of something good to say. Poor, poor, Noynoy. Media Hype! It was a failure.
We all know who Efren Penaflorida is. He is the new CNN Hero. This what bothers me. He was chosen as the surprise guest who will give the surprise question. This surprise question is supposed to be the grandest of all the questions, the final blow! But Efren's question was horrible. He asked this question: how can one be a hero? I mean, there are really better and more relevant questions out there. Why do they need to ask it? It has no significance. It has no use. Efren, you're a failure too.
Too strong words. That's all I want to say, no editing done here. Maybe the second episode will be better. Let's all hope that it will be better. Please. Who can give me a list of the questions asked?
What's your take of GMA7's Isang Tanong?
